Psychic in India Online:
How to Book One Safely

By Medha  ·  October 27, 2026  ·  6 min read

More people now book psychics, tarot readers and astrologers in India from abroad: families in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the Gulf who want a reader who understands kundli and dosha questions, and Western clients drawn to Vedic astrology. Doing it online is simple. Doing it safely takes a little care, because the same openness that makes it easy also attracts people who sell fear. This guide explains how Indian readings are sold, the signs of a scam, how time zones and payment work, and the questions to ask before you pay anyone, including us.

Quick Answer

You can book a genuine psychic or astrologer in India from anywhere, usually by WhatsApp or video call. Expect one of three models: per minute apps, fixed price consultations, or independent readers who publish a fixed fee. Before you pay, check three things: that the reader is a named person with reviews you can verify elsewhere, that the full price is written down before the reading, and that nobody pressures you into remedies. The red flags are urgent warnings of danger, a cheap or free first session followed by escalating payments, and requests for gift cards or crypto. Readings are usually delivered as a voice note, a written report or a live call, so time zones rarely matter; for a live call, India is ahead of North America and the UK and behind Australia and Singapore. A good reading leaves you clearer, not afraid.

What an Indian Reader Can Offer

A reader in India often brings a mix of tools that Western psychic platforms rarely combine: Vedic astrology (your birth chart, dashas and transits), tarot, and intuitive or psychic reading. Many readers work in English and Hindi, understand family questions such as marriage matching and Manglik dosha, and deliver the same day. If you want the difference between intuitive, psychic and mediumship readings, our guide to intuitive, psychic and medium readings explains it.

Three Ways Indian Readings Are Sold

ModelHow it worksWatch for
Per minute apps and marketplacesYou pay by the minute to talk or chat with one of many listed readersThe bill grows while you think; long answers cost more; reviews are often inside the app only
Fixed price consultationsA set fee for a session of a set length, often with a named astrologerCheck what is included and whether follow up questions cost extra
Independent readers with a published feeOne person, one written price per reading, booked directlyCheck that the reviews and the person exist outside their own website

None of these is wrong in itself. What matters is that you know the full cost before you start and that you can stop at any time.

How Scams Work, and How to Avoid Them

Fake "online astrologers" usually follow the same pattern. They reach out first, often on social media. The first session is free or very cheap. Then comes urgent bad news: a curse, an evil eye, a danger to a child or a marriage. Then comes the remedy, a puja, a stone or a ritual that costs more each time and must be paid today. If anything in that sequence happens to you, stop and do not send money.

A seven point checklist before you pay anyone:

  1. The reader is a named person you can look up.
  2. There are reviews you can check elsewhere, such as Google or Instagram, not only on their own page.
  3. The full price is written down before the reading begins.
  4. There is no pressure to decide or pay quickly.
  5. No remedies are sold inside the reading.
  6. Payment is by a normal method. Never pay with gift cards or crypto.
  7. You can stop at any time without being made to feel afraid.

Time Zones and Delivery

Many readings do not need you to be online at the same moment as the reader. A recorded voice note or a written report arrives on WhatsApp and you listen or read when it suits you. For a live call, use this guide. India Standard Time does not change through the year, so the gap moves when your clocks change.

Paying From Abroad

With Medha, you see the all-in price in your currency on each service page before you message. Medha then confirms your order and the payment method on WhatsApp before the reading starts, so you know exactly what you are paying and how. There are no per minute charges and nothing is sold during the reading. Whoever you book, ask how you will pay before you share personal details, and keep a record of the agreed price.

Birth Details if You Were Born Abroad

For an astrology reading, give the town of birth and the local time on your birth certificate. The astrologer converts it using the time zone and any daylight saving in force that day. Tarot and psychic readings usually need no birth details at all. Our article on past life astrology explains birth time issues in more detail.

Ten Questions to Ask Any Reader Before Booking

  1. What exactly will I receive, and in what format?
  2. What is the total price, including any extras?
  3. How long will it take to arrive, or how long is the call?
  4. Can I ask follow up questions, and do they cost more?
  5. Which method will you use: chart, cards, intuition or a mix?
  6. What details do you need from me, and how are they kept private?
  7. Do you sell remedies or products? (The best answer is no, or only if you ask.)
  8. Where can I read reviews outside your own website?
  9. How will I pay, and when?
  10. What happens if the reading does not address my question?

What to Send When You Book

A short, clear first message saves time on both sides and gives you a sharper reading. You do not need to share your whole story. Include:

  • your first name and the country you are in, so the reader can plan delivery around your time zone
  • the kind of reading you want, or simply "not sure, please suggest"
  • one specific question, written as "what" or "how" rather than "will"
  • for astrology, your birth date, time and town of birth
  • whether you prefer a voice note, a written report or a live call

For example: "Hi, I am Priya in Toronto. I would like a career reading. I have an offer to move to Calgary and I am unsure. What would each path look like over the next year? A voice note is fine." A message like this tells the reader what matters, and their reply tells you a lot about how they work. If the reply is warm, specific and states the price, that is a good sign. If it opens with a warning about danger or a curse, you have your answer. Our guide on what to ask in a first reading has more examples of good questions.

Who Should Not Book a Reading

A reading is a tool for reflection. It is not the right first step for a medical diagnosis, a legal decision, a large financial decision, or a crisis of grief or mental health; speak to a qualified professional first. Readings are also not for anyone under 18 without a parent's involvement.

Medha reads from New Delhi for clients across India and abroad. You can read more about Medha, see client reviews, browse the Indian astrologer online page, or start with a psychic reading. Clients in London, Toronto, Dubai and Singapore have pages of their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to book an astrologer in India from the US or UK?

Yes, if you book a named reader with reviews you can check elsewhere, agree the full price in writing before the reading, and refuse any pressure to buy remedies. Never pay with gift cards or crypto.

Do Indian psychics and astrologers read in English?

Many do. Medha reads in English and Hindi, and readings are delivered on WhatsApp as a voice note, a written report or a live call.

How do I pay from abroad?

Each service page shows the all-in price in your currency. Medha confirms the order and the payment method on WhatsApp before the reading, so the amount and method are clear before anything is paid.

What if the reading does not answer my question?

Say so straight away. A good reader will clarify or go deeper on the question you brought. Agree how follow up questions work before you book.

Can I have a live call in my evening?

Often, yes. India is 4.5 to 5.5 hours ahead of the UK and 9.5 to 10.5 hours ahead of Eastern time in North America, so an Indian morning or afternoon meets a UK morning or a North American evening. Agree the time in both time zones when you book.

Is an Indian psychic reading different from a Western psychic reading?

The intuition is similar, but an Indian reader may also use Vedic astrology and tarot, and will understand family questions such as marriage matching and doshas. Ask which method they will use for your question.
